

Becoming A Member
The National Balancing Council is a non-profit certifying authority in the testing and balancing field. Our purpose is focused on developing, establishing, and monitoring high standards of performance for our contractors, and for professionals who design and specify commercial environmental systems. We offer certification to well-qualified companies and technicians who agree to meet all NBC standards and to maintain a high level of quality and integrity in their business practices.

What We Ask of You:
NBC is for those who are dedicated to the safety and comfort of all their clients and who agree to uphold our standards of professionalism and integrity at all times. As a certified balancing professional you agree to:Companies seeking NBC certification must have been in business for a minimum of one year prior to application, and must employ at least one full time technician who is qualified to be designated as a supervisor. In addition, you must be able to show evidence of five years active air and/or hydronic balancing experience, OR completion of a recognized course in balancing and diagnostic training.
Before certification is issued you must be in possession of all required instruments and tools and provide letters of recommendation from balancing clients mechanical contractors, engineers, or project supervisors. Final balancing reports from previous commercial projects are also required.
